WASHINGTON PROJECT FOR THE ARTS

Washington Project for the Arts, in partnership with Smithsonian Enterprises, is pleased to announce it will be sponsoring a two-day holiday pop up shop at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden during the Smithsonian Holiday Festival on Saturday, December 5 and Sunday, December 6, 2015. The shop will feature unique and exciting holiday gifts, including small works of art, crafts, and other handmade goods by WPA member artists.  
  
WPA member artists interested in participating are invited to submit proposals including original, handcrafted items or artwork they would like to sell in the store.  A broad range of work is sought and items with modest, gift-friendly price tags (under $300) are desired. 

Examples of what may be considered include, but are NOT limited to: jewelry, seasonal items (ornaments, gifts, toys), personalized items, housewares, glass decorative items, ceramics, handmade books/cards/stationery, clothing, pet items, photography, digital, video and 2D artwork. Works that more esoteric, conceptual in nature, or that incorporate technology are also  highly encouraged.

CALL FOR ART

To All Metro Area Artists age 55 years and over:

The 29th Annual Young At Art (YAA) show announces a call to artists for a juried art exhibition, August 24, 2015 – November 20, 2015 at the Durant Arts Center located at 1605 Cameron Street, Alexandria, VA. 

Co-sponsored by Goodwin House Foundation (GHF) and Senior Services of Alexandria (SSA) and this juried art show is specifically for artists 55 years of age or older.

The juror will be Chris Haggerty, Fine Arts Professor at Marymount University.  Cash prizes will be awarded to the top 3 places, plus 5 honorable mentions.

The “take in” of art is on Thursday, August 20, 2015 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at the Durant Arts Center.
