You are cordially invited to the next Silver Spring Town Center Inc. (SSTCi) Film & Lecture Series on April 21, at 7:00 PM featuring Cynthia Farrell Johnson and Willard Jenkins in the Silver Spring Civic Building.
In celebration of Jazz Appreciation Month, Cynthia will explain how ten musicians inspired the paintings in her exhibition Art 4 All:Think Jazz, and Willard will describe the role they played in American cultural life.
The musicians are Dee Dee Bridgewater, Donald Byrd, Don Cherry, Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, Shirley Horn, Carmen McRae, Thelonious Monk, Esperanza Spaulding, and Randy Weston.
The program begins at 7:00 PM with the SSTCi Spring Potluck, immediately followed by the presentation at 7:30 PM. This event is FREE and open to the public. Feel free to bring food or drink to share. Please RSVP.
