Opening night in March 2010 (l. to r.) with Dr. Johnetta Cole (Director of the National Museum of African Art), Norman Parish (artist and owner of Parish Gallery of Georgetown) and Cynthia Farrell Johnson. The pieces in the background are Balm in Gilead, Jacob's Ladder and Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child, and form part of the exhibition entitled "Many Thousand Gone: Songs of My Father." This was an exhibition of art inspired by the Negro Spirituals my father sang.

Artist Statement
I believe that our world is full of beauty and that there are countless individuals committing random acts of kindness every day. My goal as an artist is to record the beauty as I see it and in the process, I hope that it will bring some joy into the viewer's life.
