EXTENDED DEADLINE FOR WCA/DC'S ART SHARE AND SALE IS OCTOBER 19TH


SUPPORT WCADC - PARTICIPATE IN THE SMALL WORKS ART SALE!! - WE NEED MORE MEMBERS AND THEIR ART
We can easily display 3 works apiece for each of 12 artists. Thus far we have five artists participating. Not enough! We need more to make it worthwhile for our buyers to attend. Marguerite is working hard to spread the news of the art sale along building residents See the details below.

Deadline for registering small works for sale: 10/19 by e-mail to Marguerite Beck Rex at mbeckrex@aol.com. Artists must register in advance for the art sale, specifying the number of small works for sale, and the artist's name, size, medium and price of each. Artists with work in the art sale must arrive at 1:30pm to set up. 

Specifications for small works sale: Maximum size, including mat and frame, is 14"x 11" horizontal (or 11" x 14" vertical); pieces may be smaller. We can accommodate 36 pieces on the wire screens. An artist may exhibit from 1-3 pieces on the wire screens; the number per artist will depend upon the number of participants in the small works sale. Artists can also exhibit small sculpture and 3-D work (1-3 pieces, depending on space), meeting the specifications above.



VOLUNTEER TO HELP: Please volunteer to help with the art share, refreshments and art sale set up. Contact Marilyn Hayes at hayesarts@yahoo.com to volunteer.

CALL FOR ENTRIES: for “RE/Using our Re/Sources"

CALL FOR ENTRIES:  
for “RE/Using our Re/Sources," 
an exhibit exploring your environmental concerns and values.

LOCATION:  
Sandy Spring Museum, Sandy Spring, MD.

Reception Sunday, September 16, 2012, 2-4pm

HANGING FEE: 
$35.00 (due at the end of January when notification of acceptance has been received.)

This exhibit is a collaboration of the Washington DC and Philadelphia WCA Chapters.  Two and three dimensional work as well as performance and special projects that relate to the theme are to be part of this exhibit.

All artists submitting work will be represented in the exhibit. Because of the limited exhibiting space, 2D work wider than 36 inches may not be able to be accommodated, so please send smaller work for consideration too, if you are including work larger than 36 inches in your submissions

HOW TO ENTER:
All Washington DC Chapter members are invited to submit up to 3 pieces of recent work that relates to the theme.
Those who were part of the proposal and previously notified have a choice to submit 2 additional works.  Otherwise the work in the proposal will be exhibited.

If you have a community project you would like to have considered, please send your idea and outline of how it would be completed.

Send up to 3 jpegs, 300 dpi, 4x6 to wcadcfeaturedartist@gmail.com .  Entries are accepted until December 1st.  Please check out    http://www.zhibit.org/wca-dc/sandy-spring-museum-re-using-our-re-sources    to view current entries on our on-line exhibit.  Your work will be posted too, as soon as it is received.
